About Me

I’ve been exploring and tasting fine chocolate for 15 years, starting off as a chocolate shop employee in 2010 that kicked off my journey!

How it Started

I worked at a small chocolate shop called Monique’s in Palo Alto, CA starting in 2010. Here I learned about single origin chocolate and its flavor nuances. It was literally my job to help teach people about chocolate and find something they liked!

How it’s Going

Great! As my passion for chocolate grew, I started storing my chocolate in a small “bookshelf” to better organize it. I’ve tasted hundreds of craft bean-to-bar chocolates and began documenting them on my Instagram account (@thechocolatetourguide) in October 2022. The yearly Northwest Chocolate Festival is a can’t-miss tradition for me!

“I have been attending the annual Northwest Chocolate Festival every year with Lexie leading and guiding my chocolate tasting experience for nearly a decade. Her palate is exceptional and I can attest to her passion for seeking out and tasting good chocolate.”

The Chocolate Bookshelf

Hello new friends, welcome to The Chocolate Tour Guide! This account is about sharing information about, and joy of, craft chocolate, starting with my own “bookshelf” collection of chocolate bars. My name is Lexie Carroll and I’ve been personally passionate about craft chocolate for over 10 years. It all started in 2010 when I got a job at a small artisan chocolate shop in downtown Palo Alto, CA. Fast forward to today and I have so many bars, I had to get a small bookshelf to organize them!
.
I love sharing chocolate tips and finds with people, and doing occasional chocolate tastings. A big focus is tasting single origin bars, and trying new artisan makers. I’ll be sharing posts weekly, with new events/finds as well as my old bookshelf favorites!
.
I’m so glad to have you here, and please tell me about your own chocolate adventures in the comments!
