I’m really savoring these last treats from @theochocolate : the signature and beloved “Big Daddy”- think gourmet s’more square but with caramel! They’ve also done a recent peanut butter iteration (sans marshmallow) with PB praline and caramel.
I was hoping production of these might continue despite the closing of the confection kitchen, but their website lists these as “out of stock” and confirms they’re made by hand in the Seattle kitchen. Bye-bye Big Daddy 😢
These really are wonderful: a symphony in the mouth of satisfying chewy texture. The caramel in the original BD has the slightest “cooked” flavor- not burnt but reminiscent of a smokey campfire- exactly what you want in a s’more confection.
The peanut butter BD has a great balance of salt to counteract the sweet, and the little praline crunchies contrast smooth PB in a lovely way. I will really miss these 💔
Maybe it’s time I start trying homemade marshmallow recipes…
