I couldn’t stop thinking about @sarahbharath’s recent lecture at NW Chocolate Festival on Cacao Plant/Soil Science – so here’s a summary!
* We are what we eat/drink, and what Cacao eats/drinks.
* Our relationship with [growing] Cacao is often dysfunctional
* We over focus on crop yield, to the detriment of systemic well-being
* Soil is essential, not a dead/inert medium
* Cacao doesn’t want to be “force-fed”
* Cacao wants & needs certain things from us. It will give SO much to us in return if we take care of it.
