Chocolate Sprinkle Donut & Cinnamon Bun by Seattle Chocolate

My friend sent these bars for a fun celebration of spring! It must be the last of Seattle Chocolate in stores before their recent rebrand to @maevechocolate . I feel like I should hang on to these wrappers! Fun inclusions is a consistent theme with the brand but I find they’re executed with varying degrees of success.

Chocolate Sprinkle Donut:
Amazingly this bar smells more of donuts than it tastes! The sprinkle inclusions sound fun but they’re mixed in and almost impossible to see, which defeats some of the point. Maybe if they were sprinkled on the back? The chocolate has slight burnt & musty notes but I’ve tasted worse. It ironically does remind me of the nominally “chocolate” frosting on donuts. A fun concept but I wouldn’t buy a second bar.

Cinnamon Bun Bun:
This bar is a more powerful hit of flavor and texture, but too sweet for me. It’s got a nice hefty dose of cinnamon paired well with fun crispy-crunchy cereal inclusions. I would love this in a dark milk with higher cocoa content.

Point of reflection- why are these spring flavors? 🤔
