Local Feature!
There’s plenty of chocolate to be had in SF but you can’t talk about craft SF chocolate without talking about @dandelionchocolate . For over 10 years they’ve been working hard at their craft and helping to build SF’s chocolate scene. They’re now well established and well respected, with an impressive offering of single origin bars, flavored confections, and chocolate-adjacent patisserie! They sponsored the SF @craftchocolateexperience that I attended recently, with a large beautiful space in the exhibition hall that I somehow didn’t visit while there 😆 (there’s only so much time and energy in 8 hours of a chocolate festival). So I visited their café in The Mission neighborhood to try and make up for that.
Their cacao fruit smoothie was SO deliciously refreshing especially on a warm summer day. The iced hot chocolate was not too sweet, and generous with the whipped cream. All drinks come with an adorable tiny chocolate shortbread round, whose relative saltiness provides a nice foil for sweetness in the drink.
The s’more graham was also pleasantly salty, to perfectly compliment the toasty sweetness of the homemade marshmallow.
I wish I could have tried more treats in this visit but honestly when you’re in the City it’s an automatic food crawl so stomach space gets limited. I did pick up a lovely Dominican Republic bar for later!
In the future I will for sure tour their historic 16th street factory. If you’re in SF for a visit DO check them out!
