I’m hanging on to the last warm moments of summer before September hits, and passion fruit is helping me with that- both fresh from the backyard and in chocolate!
Enter Goodnow Farms Pure Passion Fruit bar (dark 70% chocolate)- (and see Exhibit B- bowl of passion fruits from my backyard vine! This is less than half of what we’ve harvested so far this year).
The nose is understated with a hint of freshness. The passion fruit flavor opens slowly, asserting acidity first and then fully blossoming into that beautiful tropical pop on the finish as the dark chocolate melts and fades away. Often passion fruit is paired with white or milk chocolate but this application in dark chocolate is well-done. A popular bar with @goodnowfarms for Good Reason 😉
The chocolate is smooth with the fruit fully incorporated – no crunchy seeds here, though some people love that (I like both methods)!
