Konbu (Kelp) 70% Dark and Matcha 50% Milk bars by Green Bean to Bar


Do you have a New Year’s Resolution? Are you the type to make resolutions? One of my resolutions is to eat more chocolate! Okay,that definitely seems obvious for someone like me! Of course I’m always wanting to eat more chocolate!

But what I mean is- I need to make sure I’m eating as much chocolate as I’m buying! Getting chocolate as a gift, on the other hand, is the perfect indulgence and always a fun addition to my collection!

I’m super excited to try these awesome bars from @greenbeantobar_chocolate that my friend Stacey @chaseycakes got for me on a trip to Japan. I fell in love with Green Bean to Bar at @nwchocolate festival but I haven’t tried these flavors yet! What’s special about these is that they’re exclusive to their Kyoto location. These bars are flavored with Konbu kelp and green tea.
🐉 The konbu (kelp) is in 70% Madagascar chocolate and the tartness is immediately recognizable, but not overbearing. The kelp adds a pleasant green nuttiness; the lingering finish reminded me of a nut butter!
🍵 The matcha bar is in a delightful 50% Bolivia chocolate which balances out the matcha so well! I usually don’t like matcha (too bitter and grassy for me), but this bar transforms it! It’s got a roasty, nutty earthiness playing off the mellow sweetness of the Bolivian beans. The fragrance of the bar is complex and earthy, reminiscent of mushrooms. I love it!
