Nose of mushrooms! (If you’ve been following me for some time you know by now that I LOVE earthy/smokey/mushroomy flavors in my chocolate.)
Wow- this bar has a strong personality and it SHOUTS mushrooms in your face! 🍄🟫💥
That earthiness is so front and center, it’s like eating a chocolate covered sautéed shiitake! Pleasantly bitter hints of coffee follow up, sinking into a gentle off-ramp of a finish. This bar is sweet and mild for a 75%. I’m glad I bought 2 of these at once! They were a great price too!
Cacao Kingdom is based in a shopping mall in Kelso, WA (Tri Cities Area) where they make and sell their chocolate. And, they recently purchased 45 acres of rainforest in Belize to further expand in growing their own cacao. Apparently not many mall patrons know about craft or dark chocolate, so they end up doing a lot of milk chocolate sales in the mall, and dark chocolate sales when at festivals. I wish I still lived in Washington so I were a bit closer to great Chocolate like at the mall! What a little gem!
