We stopped inside the beautiful shop of Peter Beier Chocolate @peterbeierchokolade in Copenhagen. They have multiple locations, in CPH area as well as in Aarhus and even one across the water in Malmö!
.
Peter Beier’s has a highly sophisticated look from their prestigious logo to the artfully crafted confections. The chocolates make an attractive gift or treat for oneself.

Upon eating though I would like a bit more sharpness of flavor. Many of their chocolates are covered in milk or white chocolate, and lend themselves to feeling a bit too sweet. For example the nougat truffle is milk chocolate inside of white chocolate. While it had a nice creamy nutty flavor, the whole thing was overpowered by a cloying sweetness with a bit of a thick/gluey mouthfeel. Overall I would also like to see the shells a bit thinner, though it was nice and thin on the flødeboller/stang.
.
I was impressed though with their seasonal fruit pyramids! The filling is lusciously gooey- just the right amount of runny to feel like it’s dripping with fruit flavor. The passion fruit was delightfully zippy and a perfect compliment to the white chocolate shell.
.
Definitely check out Peter Beier Chocolates if you’re in the area, but if you don’t like things too sweet then stick to the dark or tart fruit chocolates.
