White Chocolate Brazilian Spices By Baianí

I was instantly hooked when I sampled this Brazilian Spices bar from @baianichocolates !
They encouraged me to try and guess the spices but turns out I have never heard of them! 😆
.
Cumaru, Puxuri and Amburana are not familiar to me, though I do know tonka beans (same as Cumaru)! Puxuri is a seed from the Laurel family with a flavor reminiscent of nutmeg and cardamom. Amburana seeds come from the same tree whose wood is all the rage now for finishing craft Bourbons. Its flavor can be compared to cinnamon/nutmeg/clove with a vanilla element.
.
American knowledge of global spices is so limited and I love the idea of familiarizing myself with an expanded spice palate! If anyone else is familiar with these spices, your comments or corrections are welcome below! 😆
.
The bar has a nose of peppery cinnamon, with a delightful taste of warm baking spices (without invoking memories of ubiquitous cheap ‘pumpkin spice’ products)! The taste is familiar while simultaneously eluding you. I pick up a fresh hint of something akin to mint or anise in the finish of the spices. Wow, this is so good- those spices are so comforting and yet keep me guessing!
.
I think I should have bought two of these bars 😆
